Divinely Promoted

I grew up in the Word of Faith, following the teachings of spiritual leaders like Keith Moore and Kenneth Copeland.

Hello, my name is Matthew Fortier, and I'm originally from Sarasota, Florida. The Lord has been a part of my life from a young age, and I have always walked with Him.

My journey to KCBC began in 2017 during a Wednesday night service at EMIC. Pastors George and Terri, along with Dr. Erby, discussed the establishment of this new college. In that moment, I knew deep down that I was called to go to Fort Worth and learn more about preaching faith. However, since I had just graduated from high school in 2019, I wasn't sure when I would be able to attend.

Thankfully, God opened a door for me to join KCBC in the fall of 2019. I moved to Fort Worth, Texas, and began experiencing the atmosphere of the Revival Capital of the World.

Being a part of EMIC and attending the Bridge (young adults) services gave me a clear vision of the transformation that would occur through KCBC. Going through the pandemic as a KCBC student taught me practical lessons on applying faith in every aspect of my life. The classes introduced me to faith specialists who taught me about my identity in Christ and how to apply faith from my spirit, into my soul and body.

During my time at KCBC, I formed valuable connections with my peers and instructors, and many of those relationships still exist today.

Connecting with like-minded individuals of faith was the greatest blessing I received at KCBC.

This season of growth and acceleration continued until I graduated in the Class of 2021. Throughout my time at KCBC, I worked in the KCM Prayer Department, applying the principles I learned in my classes to my work on the late shift. I used my faith in prayer for both KCM Partners and the Ministry.

As time went on, God promoted me multiple times, and I am now a supervisor under the leadership of Ms. Iva Bennett, the Prayer Director of KCM/EMIC. I also have the privilege of appearing weekly on the Morning Prayer program on the Victory Network.

Without the foundation I received from KCBC, I wouldn't be equipped for my current work.

Today, KCBC continues to play a vital role in my life. The Word of Faith instruction and practical insights I gained have a profound influence on my work, further education at ORU, and my relationships grounded in God. The most exciting part of this growth is now being a Teacher's Assistant for Pastor Holden Hanley in the Prayer 1 class.

I now get to help students who were once in the same position I was in.

I want to encourage you with my testimony. Even when I was planning to attend KCBC, I never envisioned doing all the things I'm doing now. But God can do the same for you, and even more. Just as Jesus said, you can do greater things because of God's work in you.
